At this point in our lives, it should be readily apparent to every one that Solange Knowles is one of the premiere Mixed Printresses of our time. She often provides us with extraordinary, and easy to duplicate, mixes such as various sized leopard prints or stripes paired with ikat prints or florals paired with polka dots.

The key to mixing prints is use of a traditional silhouette and matching the colors of the patterns in order to create a harmonious color palate. While the prints can be the same size, it is much easier for the look to work when the prints are of different portions. For silhouettes, think of a pencil skirt with a simple top or slim shorts with a button-down top or a midi skirt and a cropped top or a bodycon dress and longline blazer. Small polka dots with larger vertical stripes. Plaid with florals. Ikat paired with African tribal prints.

The options are really limitless. The world is yours.
