i really think plaids + florals should be the new frontier of mixed prints.
we don't celebrate the magnificence of this combo enough.
After work, I headed to Eighteenth Street Lounge to attend a book launch for Demetria Lucas' latest book entitled 'Don't Waste Your Pretty'. Lucas is an award-winning blogger, author, life coach who some may recognize from Bravo's "Blood, Sweat, and Heels" show. Her first book, 'A Belle in Brooklyn' is funny, witty, sexy, and captivating must-have for ever brown girl's book collection so I definitely excited for this new book.
Attendees were treated to free cocktails, awesome goodie bags from Creme of Nature (which had full size jars of Butter-licious Curls and Pudding Perfection from their Argon Oil line and Hydrating Shampoo and Leave-In Conditioner from their Straight from Eden line), and a Q&A with Demetria. The event was hosted by Helena Andrews, author of the awesome memoir 'Bitch is the New Black'. On a related note, I'm still kicking myself in the butt for not bringing my copy of Andrews' book for her to sign. Either way, it was an absolutely lovely event and I can't wait to devour this book over the weekend!
