One week into challenging myself to post weekly, I forget to post.
Like, I just...
I'm going to get it together soon enough.
But, now let's get back to our regularly scheduled program.
Ris DC is now offering a delightful new spin on brunch called the 'Popsicle Mimosa'. Its glasses of champagne with 100% fruit juice popsicles inside. As the popsicles melt, you get a mimosa experience. Or just keep drinking the champagne and be the Lush you always knew you were. I attended their first offering (you can check out their Facebook page for future dates) on July 24th and had the Ginger Orange Pineapple popsicle for my mimosas. It was so delicious!
The biscuits were sooo amazing - they practically melted in my mouth. I couldn't get enough! I will, honestly, say that I did struggle with the menu because I don't eat pork or shellfish and they didn't really offer any traditional breakfast dishes. Because there was pork or shellfish in nearly everything, the only things on the menu I could eat were either heuvos rancheros (they can take off the bacon bits), smoked salmon bagel, cheeseburger, or steak & fries. Hopefully, they update their menu and more traditional breakfast foods (i.e. french toast), pork alternatives (i.e. chicken sausage, turkey bacon, Morningstar Farms sausage patties, etc), and more vegetarian friendly dishes (i.e. ALT sandwich). I'm definitely going to check them out again in a few weeks!

This delightful cafe in downtown DC called Bourbon Coffee has the most wonderful seasonal offerings. In the fall and winter, I love their Rosemary Brown Sugar latte and in the cooler months, I love Purple Rain. What is 'Purple Rain', you ask? Blue eyes tea, pineapple juice, lemonade, and agave. It's absolutely yummers.

Ran across this old mirror selfie from 2012 and realized just how much my short cut was my favorite cut. I miss the simplicity of short hair the most. A sleek hair and a red lip will take you FAR. But, between promising my grandmother that I would grow my hair and challenging myself to see how long my hair will grow, short hair won't be in my future anytime soon. Lord, give me strength.

Watching Kuromukuro on Netflix and got a gentle reminder to do more on a daily basis. I've never been one to stay cooped in the house BUT, when I am home, I feel like I can do more than read and binge watch random shows. I have to get out my laziness funk and get more active. I got a tip earlier this week to incorporate exercise throughout the day so working out won't feel like a chore (i.e. 20 squats every time you go to the bathroom, keeping a 8-15lb dumbell around to do 15 overhead tricep extensions every couple of hours, yoga apps to do quick sessions in the morning or before bed, etc). Gotta keep moving and avoid growing moss!
