You know who is phenomenal? Alice Smith.
Even though her show started at 11pm and I was worried sick that I would be stuck in the city with no way home, Alice Smith's show last night at the 9:30 club was all I needed in this life of sin.
She is charismatic, witty, and personable. She worked the stage in a sickening lace paneled black minidress and Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120mm as if she were in sweats and sneakers. She joked with the band all night and gave us songs from both her records (and a couple of covers I have never heard of). And I was cool with the random covers because her voice is flawless and I was just captivated with her presence. She ended the show with "Ocean" (my favorite track from her second album) and 'Love Endeavor' (my favorite track from her first album) so I was pretty much the happiest camper in the land. ReplyDeleteIt sure is! But... she covered 2-3 songs which I am not familiar with (and she hasn't recorded) at her show as well.
